Prominent Cartoonist Kibet Bull and Brother Go Missing: Family Appeals for Help.

Nakuru Egerton University student and emerging cartoonist, Kibet Bull aka Gideon Kibet, has reportedly gone missing alongside his brother, Rony Kiplangat. The anguish-ridden family told Citizen Digital that the last they heard of Kiplangat was on Saturday last week. Afterwards, the family assumed Kiplangat had gone to Kikuyu for an SDA service. Holly Cherotich one of the siblings told us in a phone interview: “We waited until evening, and then he became unreachable on his phone. We suspected he had gone for an SDA church service in Kikuyu; we sent a friend of his to find out whether he was there, and he reported that Kiplangat was not present.”

There’s no information on the twins whereabouts and understandably, that has thrown the family into anguish. Kibet Bull has gained notoriety for being a cartoonist with an exceptional artistic ability creating silhouette illustrations that often caricature prominent public figures including President William Ruto among other leaders from both the executive and judiciary branches. His exceptional artwork made him a household name in Kenya’s creative circles and globally.

The news has stirred great concern among friends, peers and the university community at large admirers of Kibet’s artistic contributions. The family continued its search for answers, urging anyone with information to come forward and assist them in searching for their missing offspring.

The case further symbolizes the rising anxiety surrounding safety and security issues, particularly for young people pursuing creative and intellectual endeavors. While searching continues, that quiet ray of hope has not diminished in the expectation that Kibet Bull and his brother, Rony Kiplangat, will return home safely.
