Hashim Dagane Muhumed, the suspect in the Eastleigh triple homicide, is a former Ethiopian law enforcement officer with a violent past. He was convicted of murdering his wife and fleeing for Kenya where he worked as a taxi driver in Eastleigh and Parklands.
On October 21, 2024, Muhumed was accused of committing family murder: Amina Abdirashid, her aunt, Waris Dahabo Daud, and their niece, Nuseiba Abdi Mohammed. The three victims were found stabbed at various places all over Nairobi.
Investigators believe the motive could be ransom-related. When the victims saw him, they were in grave danger that he would identify them and attach him to their disappearance and subsequent rescue to the police. One of them even got away on account of the ransom payment.
